Welcome to the Woodlands 2000 Trust Website

Based at Kisaju in Kajiado District, the Woodlands 2000 Trust is a Kenyan based organization established in 2001 to provide afforestation and allied services to private entrepreneurs, farmers, land owners and other investors involved in the tree industry.

The Trust was established through a grant from the Business Partnership Program of the British Government Department of International Development in partnership with the Tamarind Group.

The Trust?s major role is to marshal corporate and private business resources towards afforestation ventures aimed at alleviating poverty, through the creation of tree growing and processing industries in semi arid regions of Kenya

The tree growing and processing industries project is an ambitious initiative by the Woodlands 2000 Trust to promote small, medium and large scale private sector afforestation ventures.

The projects purpose is to create a sustainable and profitable tree products industry that contributes towards poverty alleviation, environmental conservation and increased bio-diversify in semi-arid regions.

This purpose is being achieved by providing essential afforestation services for landowners and other investors in order to establish commercial woodlots to supply local and regional demand for woodland products. Thus participants access land-planning services, seeds and seedlings, planting materials, tree survival and woodlot management services.
